More Peacocks

Hello!

It's spring!
It's warm again!
It's hard to stay inside and stamp when there are growing things to take care of!
I have been starting a new job and also doing some needed prep work in the yard for this year's growing season... Sooooo the blog got neglected.  Sorry about that!

I did play with more of the papers and stamps from the new Heartfelt Creations Peacock Paisley line though and thought I'd show you the results of an afternoon of no deadline fun.  Many of the papers are double sided which only double the fun of creating.

This is close up of a card using a scrap that struck me as looking like an "L".  As some know, I love to look for uses for scraps :)

And as these papers are double sided, the inside can be rather busy so I made an inside panel to be able to leave a sentiment and visible signature.

Hope you enjoy!
Hugs!

Fun-Raiser cards!

Hi all!

I belong to the Shetland Sheepdog Fanciers Club here in Edmonton, Alberta.  We are a group of people who LOVE our shelties!  We have a few breeders and a quite a few show dogs.  We also have a few of us (me included) that have companion animals (Do not compete for points and ribbons).  We are doing some fundraising for dog show events that we are hosting in the next year and I thought I'd share my cardmaking skills and supplies.  SO last Saturday I had 5 ladies take me up on my offer to make 5 cards for $10.  All funds going to my club.

I supplied all paper, ink, stamps and adhesives.  Spent a couple evenings pre-cutting everything so they just had to stamp, colour and stick it all together.  These cards were geared to new stampers so a couple ladies whipped through the kits in record time :)  Those with not so much experience took about 1.5 hours to do the 5 cards.  Lots of laughing and stories which I enjoy at any of these events and some funds raised for my club.  One lady honoured me by purchasing quite a few cards I had already made from my stash for $5 each!  I meant to take pics of the fun but completely forgot!  Next get together for sure!  Hugs to all who came!

Alice Keys Page

Hi!

Here is another page from my Alice Altered Book:

Since the previous page had the keyhole cut out, I continued the theme on this spread...
I decoupaged various postage & vintage papers and stickers.  Then I used acrylic paints to put down the metallics, gold, silver and copper.
I added a Prima Alpha Card under the keyhole.  I used Green Silks paint around the edge and on the card.

The key in the top right is a laser chipboard die cut from Magenta painted gold.  the key paperclips are from Prima.  I used more images from the Tweety Jill stamp sets and StazOn inks.  The quote is from Stampers Anonymous.

Owl-rific!

Hi!

Been out with a cold/flu for quite a while!
This current strain comes and goes for a while and hits hard, so watch out and REST if you get it!

Organising my photos and found some projects I have never shown you!
Last year at this time I bought a couple fine detailed dies from Tattered Lace.  I immediately started to play with them but ran into trouble getting the center of the design to cut out.  (I later discovered that my Cuttlebug had indeed died).
I used black adhesive backed velvet paper and it just seemed like a sin to throw away all those pretty swirls and bits.

I stuck all the little bits randomly on a white piece of paper and trimmed it up to make a border.  Then put it aside for a future project.  In September I decided to use it to make a birthday card for a girlfriend.  I sprayed it with mist to make the white paper a greeny-gold and then placed it on this piece of Magenta vellum, dark green cardstock then onto the medium folded card.
She liked it!

Alice Book Page

Hello!

I've been working on my Alice Altered Book and completed a couple more pages the other day.  The first I'm sharing is what I call the Keyhole page.  I've been working in an old school dictionary and isolated a couple of K pages for this spread.  After gluing a few pages together for strength, I covered the page in 3 colours of Glaze paints.

Once dry I used a new Dylusions Small Keyhole stencil and some dimensional paste over most of the page. Once that was dry, I cut out a larger keyhole in the top right.  The Tweety Jill stamps and collage elements pertaining to being careful what you drink was used next.
I added a Tim Holtz key in the opening using thin gold coloured wire.

Then I used another stencil, this one by Stencil Girl and some black dimensional paint to add depth in the corners.
Voila!
Hugs!

Mojo Monday 387

Hello!
I guess the way to ensure I have the time to play AND post is to plan out a few posts and then go play some more!

I subscribe to Mojo Monday who, every Monday, send me a new card sketch.  Follow the sketch and upload your creation.  A great challenge.  Sometimes I get the card done and forget to upload, and sometimes I just run out of time in the week to create!  It's a nice way to get a card done quickly.
Here is this week's sketch and my creation:

St. Patrick's Day and International Quilting Day!

Woohoo! Time for some green Quilts! LOL! Not often that these two days land on the same weekend. I finally finished one of my UFOs (unfinis...
