Alice Book Page

Hello!

I've been working on my Alice Altered Book and completed a couple more pages the other day.  The first I'm sharing is what I call the Keyhole page.  I've been working in an old school dictionary and isolated a couple of K pages for this spread.  After gluing a few pages together for strength, I covered the page in 3 colours of Glaze paints.

Once dry I used a new Dylusions Small Keyhole stencil and some dimensional paste over most of the page. Once that was dry, I cut out a larger keyhole in the top right.  The Tweety Jill stamps and collage elements pertaining to being careful what you drink was used next.
I added a Tim Holtz key in the opening using thin gold coloured wire.

Then I used another stencil, this one by Stencil Girl and some black dimensional paint to add depth in the corners.
Voila!

Mojo Monday 387

Hello!
I guess the way to ensure I have the time to play AND post is to plan out a few posts and then go play some more!

I subscribe to Mojo Monday who, every Monday, send me a new card sketch.  Follow the sketch and upload your creation.  A great challenge.  Sometimes I get the card done and forget to upload, and sometimes I just run out of time in the week to create!  It's a nice way to get a card done quickly.
Here is this week's sketch and my creation:

Unbirthday Party!

Hi!
Wanna know what I've been up to?
I've been planning and hosting an Unbirthday Party!
I do not have many close friends and as the years go, I'm becoming more forgetful of keeping in touch or remembering birthdays... So I planned an unbirthday for a small group here in the house on Feb 21.  (For we are given only ONE birthday each year, but we also have 364 UNbirthdays! - Mad Hatter)  Each guest was asked to dress inspired by Alice In Wonderland characters and to bring a small $10 wrapped gift for a gift exchange game.  The rest was all me!

I decorated the house:

(altered dollar store Happy Valentines Day banner)
(punched playing cards strung on textured ribbon)
(signs mimicked from the animated movie)
Created a Photo Booth area:
(flowers and bread-and-butterfly mimicked from animated movie)
 (my godchild Larissa and I)
(altered goodwill sunglasses)
I planned and created some some fun food:

And we had fun!

I hope to make this a yearly event on different dates and maybe outside, so more can come!
Quite a fun way to beat the winter blues!

St. Patrick's Day and International Quilting Day!

Woohoo! Time for some green Quilts! LOL! Not often that these two days land on the same weekend. I finally finished one of my UFOs (unfinis...
