Waddle Waddle Art First Show

I'm a little behind in posting this, but we had a great time!  We got some time to chat and brainstorm about future shows and projects.  We sold our first 8x8 album to a teen looking for a Mother's Day gift. (YAY!)  We got some input as to what people were interested in.  My Winnie the Pooh album drew alot of attention.  So I thought I'd share some of the pages from that album along with a pic of the tree of us at our table as the show opened...

Card inspiration

Hello!
Yes!  I'm still alive!
Very busy lately and not much play time, but these past two weeks have been just that... play time!  Here's some Mother's Day cards I had fun creating.  They are going to be sent to "From Our Hearts" for troups' use overseas.  I have a button on the right side to click on for those who wish to know more about this organization.

Life Book first page

I worked on my first page for the Life Book Class I am taking (see side bar for link)  and here it is....
I am quite psyched about it as I haven't drawn since high school and thought I was not able to.  We were to draw then paint a 'goddess' version of ourselves and list our postive qualities.  Hard to list and I needed Jim's help, but it got done! :)

Goodbye Lassie

My aunt and uncle in Quebec had a beautiful Shetland Sheepdog they named Lassie.  She was quiet, gentle, beuatiful little soul.... I found out just before Christmas that Lassie died in her sleep after about 15 years of making her family and their friends very happy.  Those that know m know I will go out of my way to make cards for people, but especially when it involves a death of a pet.  These little souls are our babies, companions and their loss should be acknowledged.
Anyway, I wanted to make something special for my aunt and uncle for this loss.  These are photos of a fold out picture book I altered to make a mini display for them.

New Year, New Goals

Hello to all and a Happy New Year to you!
Our family like many of yours have had alot happen to them in 2011.  My husband and I ended 2011 with new jobs and getting adjusted to them.  This unfortunately put my creative time on the back burner.  So the first order of business for 2012 is to claim some time each week to create, be inspired and play.  To this end, I signed up for a year long online class with a lady I discovered by the name of Willowing.   www.willowing.ning.com  She seems to have a fresh and open approach to approaching art and I hope to learn and expand during this year.  I like the idea of completing a book by the end of the year recording the things and ideas I've learned.  Check it out if you're interested, she is willing to take students all year long...

Meanwhile, I'll leave you with some letters I covered for the children of a really good friend.  The idea being they could place them on their bedroom doors, or in their bedrooms as decoration.  Due to our financial situation, I made pretty much all my gifts this year.  Hope you enjoy!

Christmas Cards 1.0

Wow!
I've been busy making Christmas Cards for family members and now have time to sit down and post them!  I am quite pleased with these, as it is the first time in a few years that my family has asked me to create cards for them to give away.  So I've tried to make them pretty but not 'over the top' so that they can easily be mailed.   Anyway, here you go!

St. Patrick's Day and International Quilting Day!

Woohoo! Time for some green Quilts! LOL! Not often that these two days land on the same weekend. I finally finished one of my UFOs (unfinis...
