Recycled Puppy Cards

Hi there!

When possible, I try to reuse paper products in my cards. (I also use other items, but that's another story)  My hubby has fear of throwing out anything just in case I say "but I was going to use that!".

I was given a pile of past Shetland Sheepdog calendars to create something out of and decided on this series of cards.

Using a 1" square punch, I punched out the images I wanted from a 'puppy a day calendar'.

The punched images were then placed on cards fronts using images from magazines for the background.  Sometimes I used a strip of paper to mat the images and sometimes not.

Then I add my greeting, decorate the inside and we're done!

See you next time!

Clay It Forward

HI!

I love to try to used found items or unique items on my cards.  Since we've moved here to Sault Ste. Marie, I've been trying to make connections with others and this is one of them.  Clay It Forward is a community art initiative started by a new friend Sandra Hodge.  Check out her website for more details!  So I asked her if she would be willing to share some clay pieces for me to place on cards.

Well some of the shapes are used to bring awareness to certain groups.  For example, heart shaped pieces with a little girl is for Days For Girls, bone and dog shapes are to bring awareness to mental health issues, veggies are for a local community garden...

Here is some of the cards I have created:

Keep tuned for more cards in the future!
